Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be at ease working under Zinedine Zidane
Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be at ease working under Zinedine Zidane and he believes that the other players in the Madrid senior team are also feeling the same.
Ronaldo spoke very positively of his new boss after Madrid thrashed Sporting Gijon at the packed Santiago Bernabeu yesterday.
Ronaldo himself was the chief contributor in that thrashing as he found the back of the net in the 9th minute and in the 18th minute.
The other two strikers in the team, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, did their bit too as the game ended with the score line of 5-1.
Ronaldo had a short chat with a Television reporter after the final whistle and the Portuguese suggested that Zidane’s closeness with the players is something that is making him a better manager at Madrid in comparison to anyone else.
However, Ronaldo didn’t sound critical of the previous manager Rafael Benitez who was sacked from his post not too long back.
According to Ronaldo, the managers are not similar to one another. Everyone has his own set of methods and everyone looks to do his best, but, there are some managers whom the players get more close to and develop a great tuning with and Zidane is one of those and that’s why, the team is so comfortable under him.
When asked if he believes Benitez, who remained in his job only for a short time, was not as capable a manager as Zidane is, Ronaldo said “I don’t believe in saying bad things about the managers on their back.”
“Benitez did a good job too, but, his style of management was different to that of Zinedine Zidane.”
“I wouldn’t make the comparisons, but, what I can certainly feel is that the players’ bonding with Zidane is stronger.”
